What to Expect on the Exam

The Certified in Cybersecurity exam contains 100 total multiple-choice items. The exam is made up of five domains, or topics. The domains and their weights are:

• Security Principles – 26%
• Business Continuity (BC), Disaster Recovery (DR) & Incident Response Concepts – 10%
• Access Controls Concepts – 22%
• Network Security – 24%
• Security Operations – 18%

You will have two hours to complete your exam. A passing score is 700 out of 1000 points.

To register for your exam, follow these easy steps:

Upon passing the exam, completion of the application form and payment of your $50 AMF, you’ll become an (ISC)² member. As part of a global community of certified cybersecurity professionals committed to inspiring a safe and secure cyber world, you’ll gain access to a wealth of continuing education opportunities that will help you keep your skills sharp, stay informed of the latest trends and best practices and ensure your expertise remains relevant in every stage of your career. Maintaining your certification extends beyond passing the exam. It requires earning continuing professional education (CPE) credits that ensure your skills remain current and demonstrates to employers and your peers that you are committed to your ongoing professional development. You must earn 45 CPE credits during the three years of your certification cycle, as well as pay your Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF) of U.S. $50 each year to maintain your certification.

As a Certified in Cybersecurity credential holder you’ll also be required to commit to and fully support the (ISC)² Code of Ethics:

• Protect society, the common good, necessary public trust and confidence, and the infrastructure.
• Act honorably, honestly, justly, responsibly, and legally.
• Provide diligent and competent service to principles.
• Advance and protect the profession.
